No selling/sharing. The extension does not sell or share personal data.
Local-only settings. Voice and speech rate preferences are stored locally via chrome.storage.local.
No remote code. The extension package does not load or execute code from remote servers.

What the extension does

Prob reads aloud text that you select on a webpage using the browser’s built-in speech synthesis (Text-to-Speech) capability. Reading is triggered only when you use the extension’s command (keyboard shortcut).

Information we collect

We do not collect personal data.

The extension does not collect, transmit, or store browsing history, page content, or personally identifiable information.

Selected text

When you trigger the “read selection” command, the extension accesses only the text you have currently selected in the active webpage so it can be spoken aloud.

Not transmitted: selected text is not sent to any server.
Not stored: selected text is not permanently stored by the extension.

Storage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to store user preferences locally on your device:

Voice: which speech synthesis voice you selected.
Rate: the speech rate you selected.

This data stays on your device and is used only to keep your preferences between sessions. It is not shared with third parties.

Permissions we use and why

storage: to save your voice/rate preferences locally.
Host permissions (http://*/*, https://*/*): to run the content script on the pages you visit so the extension can access your current text selection when you trigger the read command. The extension does not automatically read or transmit page data.

Third-party services

The extension does not use third-party services to process your data. Speech playback uses the browser/OS speech synthesis voices available on your device.

Children’s privacy

The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

扩展做什么

关于“选中文本”

当你触发“朗读选中文本”命令时，扩展仅访问当前页面上你选中的那段文字，用于朗读。

不会上传：选中文本不会发送到任何服务器。
不会长期存储：选中文本不会被扩展永久保存。

本地存储（storage）

扩展使用 chrome.storage.local 在本机保存以下偏好设置：

语音（Voice）：你选择的朗读声音。
语速（Rate）：你设置的朗读速度。

这些数据仅用于在下次使用时保持设置，不会与第三方共享。
